Last Updated: April 19, 2026
At FlipToPDF, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome Extension.
1. Data Collection and Usage
We collect only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide and manage our services:
- Email Address: Collected during checkout to manage your Pro license, send license keys, and provide customer support.
- Payment Information: Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your credit card details. We only store transaction IDs and customer IDs to verify license status.
- Installation ID & Device Hash: A unique, anonymous ID generated at installation to manage device limits (max 2 devices per license) and trial status.
2. No Website Content Collection
FlipToPDF operates on a "Local-First" principle. All content extraction (images, text, canvas elements) and PDF generation take place entirely on your local machine within your browser. Your documents and flipbook files are never uploaded to our servers.
3. Permissions Justification
- activeTab & scripting: Used only to interact with the flipbook viewer on the current page to facilitate extraction.
- storage: Used to save your license key and installation ID locally.
- downloads: Used to save the final PDF file to your device.
- host_permissions: Required to enable the tool on various flipbook hosting domains.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Stripe for secure payment processing. Stripe’s use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to any other third parties.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Communication between the extension and our license server is encrypted via SSL (HTTPS).
6. User Rights
